Verity for car washes

Your bays sit idle at noon and your monthly plan customers quietly stop coming.

A car wash earns from vehicles through the bay and from customers who come back every week. Both leak, because the information sits in a job slip, a cash box and the supervisor’s memory. Verity puts every vehicle, every plan, every litre of water and every rupee in one place that tells you what to do today.

Verity in one line

One system that knows every vehicle, every bay, every can of shampoo and every rupee collected, and tells you what needs your attention before it costs you.

Free: we set up a working demo of your own business, on your own data, within 7 days. You pay only if your team decides to use it.

No new staff needed. The record is made when the vehicle is checked in and handed back.

How it runs today

The wash runs well in the bay and blind in the office.

The work is visible. Cars come in, foam goes on, the bay clears. What is not visible is everything around it: which monthly customer has not been in for three weeks, how much shampoo concentrate went into last week’s washes, how many litres each wash really used, and whether the cash in the box matches the vehicles that left.

That information exists in pieces. A slip book or a phone app for jobs, a notebook of monthly passes, a register of staff days, a tanker driver’s message, and a lot of memory. The owner is often at the site as well, so the system that joins the pieces is you, standing near the bay.

The result is not a crisis. It is a slow leak across idle hours, expired passes nobody chased, free washes nobody approved and chemicals used by habit. It shows up only when the month’s collection feels lower than the number of vehicles you saw.

What most car washes run on

  • Job slip book or phone app
  • Cash box and UPI QR code
  • Notebook of monthly passes
  • WhatsApp groups with the team
  • Supervisor’s memory

Each of these does its own job. None of them talk to each other, which is the problem.

14 problems, one by one

Where a car wash actually loses money.

These are the situations car wash owners describe again and again, whether they run a fixed site, a doorstep service for apartment societies or a detailing studio. For each one: what it looks like on a normal day, what it costs, and what Verity does about it.

  1. 01Customers

Monthly plan customers pay once and then stop visiting

    What it looks like

A customer buys a pass for eight washes. Three weeks later only two have been used. Nobody on the team notices, the pass lapses, and the customer quietly goes to the wash near the office.

    What it costs you

Example arithmetic: 150 plan customers paying ₹1,800 a month is ₹32 lakh a year. If 20 of them drift away each month without a single call, that is a steady ₹4 lakh a year of repeat income that you never see leaving.

    How Verity fixes it

Every pass is recorded against the customer and the vehicle with the washes used and left. Verity lists customers who are behind on visits or near expiry, and gives the supervisor a call task with the reason, so the follow-up happens while the customer is still undecided.

    See the screen
  2. 02Customers

Walk-in customers are strangers every single time

    What it looks like

A man in a white Creta comes in on the first Sunday of each month. Nobody knows his name, his number or what he usually takes. He is a regular in practice and a stranger in your records.

    What it costs you

You cannot offer him a plan, remind him when he is overdue, or tell whether he has gone elsewhere. Every walk-in who could have become a plan customer is a missed sale.

    How Verity fixes it

The vehicle number is the record. A phone number and the usual service are noted at the first visit, and Verity shows repeat visitors who do not have a plan yet, with a suggested offer for the front desk to make.

    See the screen
  3. 03Customers

Doorstep and apartment society customers dispute whether the car was cleaned

    What it looks like

In a society with 60 subscribed cars, the cleaner skips a few on a rainy day. At month end a resident says the car was cleaned only twice a week, and the cleaner says four times. There is no record either way.

    What it costs you

Refunds given to avoid an argument, a complaint in the society’s WhatsApp group, and the risk of losing the whole society, which may be a dozen or more subscribers at once.

    How Verity fixes it

Each doorstep clean is ticked on the cleaner’s list against the vehicle, with the date. The resident’s record shows what was done and what was missed, and a missed clean becomes a task for a make-up visit rather than an argument.

    See the screen
  4. 04Detailing

Coating and detailing enquiries go cold

    What it looks like

A customer asks about a ceramic coating or paint protection, gets a quote in a message, and says he will think about it. Nobody calls him again. A week later he has booked with a studio that did.

    What it costs you

Example arithmetic: one coating job at ₹18,000 is worth the same as about 60 basic washes. Five lost enquiries a month is ₹90,000 of work that was asked for and not chased.

    How Verity fixes it

An enquiry is a record with the vehicle, the quote, the date and an owner. Verity lists quotes with no reply after three days, and puts them on the owner’s list with the customer’s history beside them.

    See the screen
  5. 05Bays and time

Bays sit idle in the afternoon and queue on Sunday morning

    What it looks like

On Sunday between 8 and 11 there are twelve cars waiting and customers leave. On Tuesday after lunch two bays stand empty for three hours while the full team is paid.

    What it costs you

A staffed bay hour that earns nothing is lost for good. Because nobody writes it down as a number, nobody manages it.

    How Verity fixes it

Each vehicle is logged with its check-in and hand-back time and its bay. Verity shows vehicles per bay per hour and the quiet and busy patterns by weekday, so you can plan offers for slow hours and shifts for the rush.

    See the screen
  6. 06Bays and time

Nobody knows which vehicle is stuck at which stage

    What it looks like

A customer asks where his car is. The supervisor walks around the site to look. One car has been waiting for the interior vacuum for forty minutes because the person on that task was pulled to another bay.

    What it costs you

Waiting customers get angry, tips and repeat visits suffer, and the slowest stage is never identified because it is never measured.

    How Verity fixes it

Every vehicle moves through states on a simple board: waiting, wash, interior, finish, ready. Whoever is free can see what is next, and the owner can see which stage holds cars the longest.

    See the screen
  7. 07Customers

Scratch and damage complaints you cannot settle

    What it looks like

A customer says the bumper scratch was not there when the car came in. Your worker says it was. Without a record you either pay for a touch-up or lose a good customer.

    What it costs you

A repair or a refund on the spot, and a customer who tells others. Even one such case a month is a recurring cost for something that a two-minute check-in could settle.

    How Verity fixes it

At check-in the existing marks are noted on the vehicle’s job record with photos, the customer’s valuables are listed, and both are visible at hand-back. A complaint is then a comparison, not a dispute.

    See the screen
  8. 08Stock

Shampoo, wax and polish used by habit, not by measure

    What it looks like

Workers pour the foam concentrate by eye. A drum meant for four weeks is empty in three. Microfibre cloths disappear, and nobody can say whether the spend is high because volume rose or because usage is loose.

    What it costs you

Example arithmetic: at 2,000 washes a month, an extra ₹6 of chemicals per wash is ₹12,000 a month, or ₹1.44 lakh a year, hidden inside the purchase bills.

    How Verity fixes it

Stock items carry a standard quantity per service. Verity compares what was used with the washes done, per bay and per shift, and shows the cost per wash against your target, so overuse appears as a number.

    See the screen
  9. 09Water

Water cost and water rules are both tightening

    What it looks like

Tanker bills climb, the borewell level drops in summer, and a neighbour complains to the authorities. You do not know litres per wash, and you cannot say whether the recycling plant is working.

    What it costs you

In 2024 Bengaluru warned and fined potable-water use for washing vehicles, and some washes saw their daily cars fall sharply. A site that cannot show where its water goes is exposed.

    How Verity fixes it

Tanker deliveries and meter readings are recorded, and Verity shows litres per wash by week. Recycling plant servicing and filter changes are scheduled tasks, so the plant is serviced before the water turns dirty.

    See the screen
  10. 10Staff

Casual washers come and go, and attendance is a guess

    What it looks like

Half the team is daily-wage. Someone does not show on Monday, a friend steps in, and at month end nobody agrees on how many days each person worked or what advance they already took.

    What it costs you

Wage disputes, overpaid or underpaid days, and a bay run short just when the queue builds.

    How Verity fixes it

Attendance is marked against each person each shift. Advances taken are recorded and shown against the month’s dues, and the shift list shows gaps a day ahead so cover can be arranged.

    See the screen
  11. 11Money

Cash in the box does not match the vehicles that left

    What it looks like

At closing the cash box, the UPI total and the slip book are compared. They are off by ₹600. Was it a free wash, a missed slip, or cash that never reached the box?

    What it costs you

Small daily gaps add up, and the owner cannot trust the numbers on the day. Free and discounted washes with no approval are a large part of the gap.

    How Verity fixes it

Each vehicle is a record with a price and a payment mode. Verity compares the day’s vehicles with the day’s collection by mode and points to the exact vehicle that does not tie. Free or discounted washes need an approval with a reason.

    See the screen
  12. 12Money

Fleet and company accounts pay late and nobody chases

    What it looks like

A taxi fleet owner, a school bus operator and two offices send cars every week on credit. The month’s dues sit in a notebook, and the follow-up depends on you remembering.

    What it costs you

Example arithmetic: three fleet accounts at ₹45,000 a month each, paid 30 days late, hold back about ₹1.35 lakh of cash every month.

    How Verity fixes it

Each account is a record with its vehicles, washes done and amount due. Verity lists overdue accounts by days late and assigns a payment call task with the last conversation noted.

    See the screen
  13. 13Equipment

Machines break down because service is a memory

    What it looks like

The high-pressure pump loses power, the foam lance clogs and the vacuum motor burns out in the middle of a Saturday. The last service date was written on a wall, if at all.

    What it costs you

A bay out of action during the busiest hours, an emergency repair bill, and customers who walked away while the machine was down.

    How Verity fixes it

Every machine is an asset record with its service interval and history. Verity creates a service task before it is due and records breakdowns, so you can see which machines cost the most to keep running.

    See the screen
  14. 14Owner

Licences, consents and renewals live in a drawer

    What it looks like

The trade licence, the shop registration, the pollution board consent and the groundwater permission each renew on a different date. You find out one has lapsed when an inspector visits.

    What it costs you

Penalties and, in the worst case, a notice to stop operations, for a business whose water use draws attention.

    How Verity fixes it

Each licence and consent is a record with its renewal date and the document attached. Verity creates a task ahead of each date and shows what is expiring on the owner’s screen.

    See the screen

The numbers behind it

The numbers that make these problems worth fixing.

From published sources, with the source named under each figure. Your own numbers will differ, and showing you yours is the first thing Verity does.

The market sizes come from research vendors and are estimates. The detailing share is from a vendor quoting aggregators, and the penalty figure has no primary source on the page. The member lifetime is from the United States. They show the scale of the problem, not what your car wash will see.

What you will actually see

The screens you would use every day.

Six views, each built for one job. Names, columns and terms are set up in your car wash’s own language.

An ordinary day

The same Sunday, before and after.

What changes is not the work. It is that the work leaves a record, and the record does the chasing.

WhenTodayWith Verity
8:00 TodayYou open the site and check which team members turned up. You find out one is missing when a bay stays empty. With VerityThe shift list showed the gap on Saturday evening. Cover was arranged and Bay 3 opens on time.
10:00 TodayTwelve cars wait. A customer walks away because nobody knows who is next. With VerityThe board shows each car’s stage, so the supervisor moves a free washer to the slow stage.
12:30 TodayA customer says the scratch on his door is new. You argue, then give a free touch-up. With VerityThe check-in photos show the scratch was noted at 8:42. The customer sees them and moves on.
3:00 TodayA monthly customer has not been seen for a month. You only learn when she does not renew. With VerityShe was on the call list at week three. The supervisor called and she booked for Wednesday.
8:30 TodayCash, UPI and the slip book are off by ₹600. You guess. With VerityVerity shows the two vehicles that do not tie. One was a free wash that was never approved.
Month end TodayYou settle wages from memory and argue over advances. Fleet dues sit unchased. With VerityDays worked and advances are on one sheet, and overdue fleet accounts already have a call task.

How we work with you

We set it up with you, in four weeks.

You do not get a login and a manual. We learn how your wash actually runs on a busy morning, build Verity around it, move your data in, then stay on so it keeps working.

  1. Week 1

    Discovery and mapping

    What we do
Spend a Sunday morning at your site. Follow a vehicle from the gate to hand-back, count how many people touch it, and note how passes, cash and consumables are tracked today.
    What we need from you
Two to three hours of your time and your supervisor’s. Your slip book, plan notebook and last month’s purchase bills.
What you have at the end
A written map of your wash: services and prices, bays and stages, plan types, the team, and the first leaks we will close.
  2. Weeks 2 to 3

    Configuration

    What we do
Set up your services, plan types, stages, standard shampoo and water per wash, machine service intervals, approval limits and any second site, and build the screens above in your own terms.
    What we need from you
Check the setup with your supervisor. Tell us where a service or plan rule is wrong.
What you have at the end
A working Verity with your services, plans, team and rules, ready for your data.
  3. Weeks 3 to 4

    Migration and training

    What we do
Bring in plan holders, fleet accounts, vehicle numbers, stock and the machine list from your notebooks and sheets. Train washers and the supervisor at the bay, with real vehicles.
    What we need from you
Your plan notebook and customer numbers, in any form. Half an hour with each washer.
What you have at the end
Your customers and plans inside Verity, and a team that has used it on a real Saturday.
  4. After go-live

    Operations partnership

    What we do
Stay on after launch. Review the first weeks with you, tune the call lists and stock standards, and handle changes when you add a bay, a service or a site.
    What we need from you
A short monthly review of what the numbers say.
What you have at the end
A system that keeps pace with the wash, with someone responsible for it.

Bring these on day one

  • Your service list and prices, including plan types
  • Your plan notebook and any customer numbers you have
  • Last two months of chemical and spare purchase bills
  • Your team list with daily rates and the advances you give
  • Licence, consent and tanker or borewell details

Your time

About 8 to 10 hours of your own time across the four weeks, mostly in week 1. Your supervisor needs a few more.

After go-live

Nobody is hired to run Verity. A vehicle is recorded when it is checked in and handed back, and the reports come from those records.

Verity AI

Ask your car wash a question. Get an answer, not a report to build.

Verity AI reads your own vehicle, plan, stock and team records. Ask in plain language, then turn the answer into tasks for the right person.

  • Your records only Answers come from your own car washes data, not from generic knowledge.
  • Right person, right view It only shows what the person asking is allowed to see.
  • Turns into action An answer can become a task assigned to a named person.

Verity / Ask

Which plan customers are behind on visits and expire this month?

27 plan holders are behind, and 9 of them expire within ten days. Together they pay about ₹48,600 a month.

  • Expiring in 10 days9
  • Behind, not expiring18
  • Never visited4
  • Have a vehicle on file27

  • Bay 1₹9.40
  • Bay 2₹9.90
  • Bay 3₹12.60

Verity / Ask

Rules and paperwork

The rules a car wash has to keep up with.

Verity does not give legal or tax advice and does not file anything for you. It keeps the records and dates these rules depend on in order, so you are not looking for papers when an inspector arrives.

  • Local licences and shop registration

    What is expected

A fixed site generally needs a trade licence from the municipal body and a Shop and Establishment registration from the state once you hire staff. Rules differ by city and state.

    How Verity helps

Each licence is a record with its number, renewal date and the document, with a reminder task ahead of the date.

    OkCredit, car wash business guide

  • Pollution board consent

    What is expected

State pollution control boards generally issue consent to establish and consent to operate. The same guide notes that the CPCB list of January 2026 places automobile service stations in the Orange category. Confirm what applies to your site.

    How Verity helps

Consent dates and conditions sit in one record, and recycling plant servicing is scheduled so wastewater conditions are easier to show.

    OkCredit, car wash business guide

  • Water use and groundwater permission

    What is expected

Several cities restrict potable water for washing vehicles, and a groundwater NOC may apply where a borewell draws a large daily volume. The guide quotes a threshold of 10,000 litres a day.

    How Verity helps

Tanker deliveries, meter readings and litres per wash are recorded, so you can show your water source and use.

    OkCredit, car wash business guide

  • GST on car washing services

    What is expected

The same guide treats car washing as an 18% service, with registration generally needed once service turnover passes ₹20 lakh (₹10 lakh in special-category states). Rates and limits change, so confirm with your accountant.

    How Verity helps

Wash and detailing revenue is recorded by service type and customer, so the figures your accountant needs are already separated.

    OkCredit, car wash business guide

Rules change and differ by city and state. Confirm current requirements with your accountant or the local authority.

Who sees what

Everyone sees the same records, through their own window.

A washer should not see the day’s collection. The accountant should not edit stock standards. Each role opens on what it needs.

  • Owner

Is the wash earning what it should?

Vehicles, bay use, plan health, cash tie-out, water per wash and renewals, for every site.

  • Supervisor

What do I fix before the rush?

Stage board, today’s shift gaps, plan call list, stock short and machines due.

  • Washer

Which car is next and what does it need?

The queue and the job note for each vehicle, and their own count and attendance.

  • Front desk

Who is here and what do they owe?

Plan balances, quotes in progress, fleet accounts and the payment mode at hand-back.

  • Accountant

What came in and what is owed?

Collection by mode, fleet receivables, purchase bills, advances and the GST split.

It works only if a vehicle is checked in and handed back, so we make that take seconds on a phone at the bay. We train at the site with real cars. Washers also get something back: their own count and attendance, visible and unarguable.

I run a doorstep service for apartment societies. Does it work?

Yes. A society is an account, each car is a vehicle on it, and each clean is ticked on the cleaner’s list. A missed clean becomes a make-up visit task instead of a complaint in the society group.

Does Verity take bookings or payments from customers?

No. If you use a booking app or a QR code, it keeps doing that job and we map it during setup. Verity records the vehicle and the payment and gives you the picture around it.

Can it message my customers about their plan?

Not on its own. Verity builds the call list and assigns it to the supervisor, who calls or sends the message. The outcome is recorded.

I only have one bay. Is this too much?

A one-bay wash has the same leaks and less spare time to notice them. We set up only what you need, and the four-week process is the same.

Who can see my data?

Only the people you allow. Access is set by role, so washers, supervisor, desk and accountant each see what they need, and every change is recorded with who made it and when.

Can it handle detailing and coating jobs, which take days?

Yes. A job can stay open across several days with its stages, photos, deposit and delivery date, and the customer’s history stays on the vehicle.

How long before I see a difference?

The plan call list, fleet dues and stock warnings need only your existing customer and stock data, so they come first. Water and chemical cost per wash become reliable after a few weeks of recorded vehicles.

What does it cost?

It depends on the number of sites, bays and what you want set up. Message us and we will give you a clear number after a short conversation about how your wash runs.
